Carmakers make April Fool's jokes to entertain their customers.Honda, for example, said that it is introducing a new distraction-limiting technology dubbed “Honda’s Ultra Quiet Sonic Hub (HUSH).”
HUSH apparently uses “algorithms and artificial intelligence” to “block out passenger noise.”
Its features include detection and deflection of unwanted noises within your car, control of the volume of sound that reaches the driver seat, and the ability to switch off your satnav if it’s persistently telling you to turn around when you know better.
Subaru, on the other hand, announced that it will enter the snack industry by launching the Subaru Forager Granola.
“The closest thing you’ll find to eating compost for breakfast, Subaru Forager Granola is a companion snack to power you through life’s crunchiest pursuits,” Subaru said in a press release.
The granola bar is said to be made with wholesome grains, nuts, dried fruits, and “the promise of the open road” — a nod to the brand’s inclination to outdoorsy vehicles. It is, by the way, customizable and can be made with almost any ingredient you can think of. Although Subaru recommends fresh steam from Old Faithful, crunchy macrobiotic twigs, and even freshly picked berries.
Additionally, the United Kingdom (UK) arm of Subaru said that it has launched a new, limited-edition walking shoe.
Because Subaru owners are often seen as nature lovers, Subaru UK said that it has developed a shoe capable of traversing any terrain with no sacrifice to grip or functionality.
Equipped with All-Heel drive technology, the said shoe — named Suba-Shoes — is equipped with a car rubber outer sole, spongier compounds (along the outer edge of the shoe), a specially designed leather seat stitch, and shock-absorbing outer soles with grill springs assist.
Volkswagen, not to be outdone, announced its new nail polish collection. The nail varnish, said the German carmaker, allows Volkswagen owners to match their car color with their nail color.
This product is said to have been specially formulated using a Fashionable Oil Overhaul Lacquer – known as F.O.O.L – so it can even be used to temporarily repair scratches and scrapes on car paintwork.
Volkswagen’s nail polish can be had in Kings Red, Lapiz Blue, or Oryx White.
Finally, Isuzu UK said that it had accidentally released a batch of pickup trucks that had the front badge spelled incorrectly.
Instead of having a bold “ISUZU” at the fore, these vehicles apparently have “IZUSU.”
Having such a badge on one’s grille, Isuzu explained, can cause “a potential problem for affected customers, especially for re-sale.”
Nevertheless, Isuzu UK clarified that the company “assures its customers that this production issue does not affect the performance, capability or safety of the affected vehicles.”
