Beep card owners can get free personal accident insurance
AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) recently announced that it is giving away personal accident insurance coverage to Beep cardholders who will register in its mobile app.

AFPI considers the limited-time giveaway a valuable perk for students who attend face-to-face classes, workers who went back to onsite operations, and even daily wage earners who commute every day.
“Beep partnered with Malayan Insurance to help provide peace of mind and a sense of security to passengers exposed to daily risks on the road. As we continuously work to deliver a convenient and reliable payment system, we want to empower our customers to maximize the benefits that come with their Beep card. We’re always creating initiatives and programs that will benefit the commuters, so be sure to stay tuned for further announcements,” AFPI Chief Commercial Officer Sharon Fong said.
To qualify for the promo, users need to register their Beep card in the app for the first time during the promo period from September 5 to December 5, 2022. The Beep app can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play, or Huawei App Gallery. Only one card per account is eligible for the free insurance. However, new cards registered in an existing Beep app account are not qualified for the free accident insurance.
Meanwhile, qualified cardholders are entitled to P10,000 in life insurance coverage for death due to an accident, P10,000 benefit for total permanent disablement from an accident, up to P10,000 benefit for dismemberment and/or disablement from an accident, and P2,000 burial expense benefit following an accidental death.
The coverage, AFPI shared, is valid for one month from the date of registration. Customers will receive their proof of cover, including details on how to claim benefits, in their registered email address.
“Watch out for more enhancements on the Beep app, as we continue to introduce meaningful innovations to make daily commuting a pleasant and a more productive experience for commuters,” Fong noted.
Beep is a known stored value card in the country that is used to pay fares in select buses and other public utility vehicles, in the elevated railways (LRT1, LRT2 and MRT3), as well as in select retail merchants nationwide. Cardholders can download the Beep app to enjoy real-time load balance checking, card transaction monitoring, QR ticket purchasing, loading and fetching load (for NFC-enabled Android phones), and earning rewards points.
Meanwhile, Malayan Insurance is a member of the Yuchengco Group of Companies. The firm, which was founded in 1930, offers clients quick processing and settlement of valid claims.
