Bentley said that the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) has the best seat in the world today, thanks to its new Airline Seat Specification.
In a statement, the Crewe-headquartered vehicle maker said that the aforementioned part of the vehicle has a combination of 12 electric motors and three intelligent pneumatic valve ECU units controlled by master ECU for seat motion and wellbeing.
According to Bentley, the new Airline Seat Specification can be adjusted 22 ways and features the world’s first auto-climate sensing system as well as the advanced postural adjustment technology that provides the finest rear accommodation since the Mulsanne.
The company explained that the auto climate function senses surface humidity and occupant temperature with an accuracy of 0.1 degrees Celsius every 25 milliseconds and adjusts to the rear passenger's liking that is based on the seven available levels.
On the other hand, the postural adjustment system automatically fine-tunes the seating position and pressure points using an algorithm developed in partnership with a chiropractor. The system has the capability to apply 177 individual pressure changes across six independent pressure zones over a period of three hours to heighten comfort and minimize fatigue while inside the cabin.
“By subtly changing the shape of the surfaces of the seat over time, no one area of the body endures pressure fatigue for an extended period – meaning the occupant is always comfortable,” Bentley explained.
Bentley expressed firm belief that the Bentayga EWB demonstrates a new benchmark in wellbeing features following the initial customer uptake of 50-percent for the Airline Seat specification.
Further, the new Airline Seat Specification has optimized seat contact profiles and complex seat interlayer construction to ensure that passengers are isolated from road vibration. The profiles can be adjusted to fit various passenger builds and shapes.
The adjustable leg and footrest feature, on the other hand, lets customers find their preferred position while inside the vehicle.
Moreover, the Bentley Airline Seat Specification also gives additional cushion and backrest bolster adjustment, as well as cushion extension, electric headrest height adjustment and a deployable footrest to the back of the front passenger seat. The rear passenger at the aforementioned side can also move the front seat through a “VIP mode.”
