Bentley Bentayga, Flying Spur get new rear-seat entertainment system
Two of Bentley’s best-selling models, the Bentayga and Flying Spur, get a new rear-seat system that offers its passengers unparalleled entertainment on the go.
Dubbed simply as Bentley Rear Entertainment, this system features two high-definition screens attached to the back of the front seats. According to Bentley, the 10.1-inch screens offers an exceptionally immersive entertainment experience as both displays boast crystal-clear resolution of up to 1920x1080 pixels.
Sound from the Bentley Rear Entertainment system can be transmitted via Bluetooth to either the headphones supplied with the car, or the passenger’s personal device. Alternatively, passengers can have the audio directed to the Flying Spur or Bentayga’s Naim audio system.
The Bentley Rear Entertainment system is also capable of receiving over-the-air (OTA) software updates to keep it updated with the latest advances in modern technology.
“The new Bentley Rear Entertainment system blends ease of use with exquisite design and functionality. It allows rear-seat passengers access to an ever-expanding world of entertainment via an exceptionally immersive system — one that represents the very latest in in-car technology. The system delivers digital entertainment services like media and streaming content from nearly all service providers worldwide and turns your car into your own exclusive cinema on the move,” said Bentley Motors Director of Electrical/Electronic Ivo Muth.
“Bentley’s new ‘bring your own device’ concept works seamlessly with a passenger’s own device, offering the benefits of a high-resolution, 10.1-inch screen and incredible sound quality. Bentley Rear Entertainment is another example of Bentley helping customers to create their own extraordinary journeys,” he added.
The Bentley Rear Entertainment system is also capable of mirroring various devices so passengers can seamlessly stream their favorite content from their smartphone, computer, or tablet, directly to the rear screens.
Those using mobile devices can cast both iOS and Android media apps to either of the Bentley Rear Entertainment screens.
As long as both the device and the Bentley Rear Entertainment screens are connected to the same WiFi network, passengers can play videos from Amazon Prime, Disney+, Youku, or Apple TV and interact with the app using the Bentley Rear Entertainment’s touchscreens. Netflix, on the other hand, is pre-installed on the system so passengers can watch their favorite shows and movies without the need for a device to cast content from.
Both rear-end screens are equipped with HDMI ports so you can use them with other media devices like the Amazon Firestick or a videogame console. Aside from the HDMI ports, the screens are also equipped with USB-C ports which allow charging of compatible devices. And oh, there’s also a headphone jack for those using wired headsets.
