Bentley Beyond Collection releases all new fragrances for women
Bentley Motors isn't just all about the best cars that money can buy. Aside from vehicles, the UK-based automotive manufacturer also produces bags, gadget accessories, golf accessories, pens, and even toiletries. As the latest addition to their product lineup, Bentley debuts the exclusive new scents in its exclusive Bentley Beyond collection: Radiant Osmanthus – a fruity floral scent; Mellow Heliotrope – a delicately powdery scent; and Vibrant Hibiscus – an exuberant floral scent.
"Each exquisite scent is captured in a luxurious, heavy glass bottle, with a thick base. Inspired by the signature cut-crystal headlights of the Bentley Continental GT, the glass has a satin-like effect," says Bentley in a press release. "Each bottle is finished with a unique cap featuring colored suede detailing and bearing the name of the scent itself."
This luxurious new wardrobe of scents is marketed to trailblazing women who, with their appreciation of high-quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship and originality, will be satisfied with the company's new range of products. For such unique customers, each fragrance must present an individual statement and a true expression of their personality.
"Women have always been part of Bentley’s history - the Bentley Boys may have set the pace on and off the race-track, but Bentley Girls refused to take a back seat, breaking motoring records and making their mark in inimitable Bentley style," says the company.
"Women like Diana Barnato-Walker, daughter of Woolf ‘Babe’ Barnato, heir to a diamond fortune who bought Bentley Motors in 1926 and sealed his name in the annals of motor-racing history in the 1920s. Diana was a pioneering English aviator, a former Spitfire pilot who was the first British woman to break the sound barrier in 1963, thus establishing the air speed record for women."
"Then there was Dorothy Paget, the heiress and race-horse owner, who was responsible in the late 1920s for financing the team of supercharged Bentley Blowers created by Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin. Without her largesse in funding a private racing team based in Welwyn, the four racers would never have been built."
The Trio of Fragrances
Masterfully crafted by the Grasse-born master perfumer Karine Dubreuil Sereni, the set of three beautifully composed fragrances are as "harmonious and sophisticated as the modern Bentley woman."
Radiant Osmanthus brings forward sparkling mandarin and bright orange blossom, matching the flower’s sunny color. The bright ruby flesh of the blood peach represent the osmanthus' desirability, while the sweet, airy scent of wild jasmine expresses the wearer's spontaneous femininity.
“The woman I envisioned when I composed Radiant Osmanthus is self-confident and joyful, but never ostentatious. She exudes charm naturally," Karine Dubreuil Sereni comments. "For me, the apricot color and scent of the osmanthus flower reflect her sunny character, while its suede facet express her inner depth.”
The Heliotrope flower, a purple Mediterranean charmer whose name means “turns towards the sun" represents a woman's sweet but compelling nature. With wafts of vanilla and anise, its powdery fragrance is a perfume in itself.
To complement these softly sensual facets, Dubreuil Sereni has picked a palette of pink and purple notes. The fragrance is described to start up with crisp blackcurrant bud, accentuated with pink peppers. A hint of vanilla and praline enhance the perfume's subtle facets in an exquisitely seductive trail.
“I adore heliotrope. To me, it is one of the most feminine notes in the perfumer’s palette. But though it is extremely feminine, it is elegant rather than provocative. When I composed it, I imagined a soft, sensual woman who wants a scent that is delicately enveloping yet very diffusive and unforgettable,” says Dubreuil Sereni.
The scent opens up with an indication of cassis and Italian mandarin, transitioning into a lush floral symphony of scarlet peony, crimson Turkish rose and a pink hibiscus accord, all mixed in with the heady sensuousness of jasmine as a stark a contrast to the fiery palette. Indications of exotic sandalwood and Indonesian patchouli round out the assertive yet elegant character of Vibrant Hibiscus.
“I had to invent the scent of hibiscus, since there is no extract, so I drew my inspiration from the intensity of its color and the fragility of its corolla," Dubreuil Sereni remarks. Between the lushness of a Turkish rose and the freshness of peony, my hibiscus accord expresses the contrasts of a passionate woman’s personality.”
Drawing on the expertise of Bentley’s design studio, the flacon and packaging of Bentley Beyond, The Collection for Her uphold the same high standards and attention to detail as the the brand’s exquisite vehicles.
“The design of the flacon was a representation of the elegant fragrances contained within, and as such drew inspiration from one of our most elegant and noticeable elements of the Bentley Continental GT; the crystal cut inspired headlamps," Bentley designer Chris Cooke comments. “It is a privilege to work closely with master perfumers who share our passion for attention to detail and are able to create such wonderful emotion through signature scent.”
To manifest the different personalities of the Bentley women captured in the scents, each fragrance has its own unique and distinctive colors, visible both in the handstitched suede cap that echoes the handstitched interior elements of a Bentley car and the hue of the perfume itself, showcased by the soft satin glass of the bottle.
The majestic faceted flacon is inspired by the iconic Continental GT's signature cut-crystal glass headlights, and the legendary Bentley emblem is engraved on the silver metal shoulders of the flacon.
