Bentley revealed the latest addition to its portfolio of grand tourers with the introduction of the Flying Spur Speed.
According to the British luxury automotive brand, the Bentley Flying Spur Speed is “the most driving-focused version of the Flying Spur luxury performance sedan family,” boasting 83 horsepower (hp) and 130Nm more than the Flying Spur S.
It is equipped with Bentley’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine and is mated to an eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission. This setup allows the Bentley Flying Spur Speed to make 617 horses and 900Nm of torque. The new Flying Spur zooms from standstill to 60 miles per hour (mph) in just 3.7 seconds or from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 3.8 seconds. Speed peaks at 207mph (333kph).
Stopping power comes from a set of iron disc brakes with the front pair measuring 420mm and with Gloss Red calipers. A Gloss Black caliper is available at an added cost.
The Crewe-based automotive brand reveals that the Bentley Flying Spur Speed inspires confidence — even during high-speed driving situations. Features such as the All-Wheel Drive, Electric All-Wheel Steering, and the Bentley Dynamic Ride make its newest grand tourer stable and easy to maneuver.
Its exterior design echoes its performance-oriented build. Its front grille, headlamps and tail lamps, and signature Speed badges on the lower wing come with a dark tint finish. The 22-inch Speed wheel can be had in Dark Tint, Gloss Black, or can be silver-painted. Optionally available is a 22-inch sports design wheel that can also be had in Gloss Black or Pale Brodgar Satin.
Would-be owners can also enhance their Bentley Flying Spur Speed’s appearance with the Styling Specification (which adds a carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a subtle rear spoiler) and Blackline Specification (adds a black Flying B mascot, radiator vanes, matrix grilles, side window surrounds, lower door, and rear bumper blades).
Inside, the Bentley Flying Spur Speed features increased personalization with 15 leather colors with Piano Black as standard. Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Stained Burr Walnut, or Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus can be had as alternative colors at no added cost.
The driver’s information panel also features new performance infotainment graphics that was inspired by luxury watches. The luxury theme continues with front and rear seat comfort specification as standard, including a 24-way adjustment for the front seats and a 14-way adjustment for the rear seats. All seats include heating, ventilation, massage, and two memory positions. The cabin also includes sports pedals, Speed fascia badges and emblems, and illuminated Speed inner and outer treadplates.
Bentley predicts that the Bentley Flying Spur Speed will take a third of the overall Flying Spur models in the United States and in Europe. In the Middle Eastern market, Bentley expects that one out of five Flying Spur orders will be a Bentley Flying Spur Speed.
