What powers the Bentley Blower Jnr?
The Bentley Blower Jnr is powered by a a 48-volt electric powertrain with a 15-kilowatt (kW) motor. How much power can the Bentley Blower Jnr make?
Per the carmaker, the Bentley Blower Jnr can put out as much as 20 horses.According to the British carmaker, Bentley Blower Jnr is a fully road-legal car built with a 48-volt electric powertrain and a 15-kilowatt (kW) motor that produces approximately 20 horsepower. Speed peaks at 72 kilometers per hour and its estimated all-electric range is rated at 104 kilometers.
The electric motor, Bentley explained, is mounted across the rear axle, while the batteries and drive electronics are all housed in a hidden undertray.
Stopping power comes from Brembo disc brakes at the front coupled with drum brakes at the rear.
Serving as the platform of the scaled-down is a painted steel frame, to which an authentic chassis specification is attached. Additionally, it is equipped with leaf springs and small period-correct friction dampers to offer its occupants a comfortable ride.
The bodywork — crafted in two sections — features a hand-crafted aluminum bonnet with multiple cooling louvers and a carbon fiber rear body covered in impregnated fabric, just as the original.
A charging port can be found at its fore, which connects the onboard charger to any Type 1 or Type 2 socket. It is, Bentley pointed out, surrounded by the famous Bentley mesh grille, in an authentic nickel-plated radiator housing.
The two-person cockpit is in a 1+1 layout, with a central adjustable driving position and the passenger traveling behind in the rear seat.
The dashboard of the Bentley Blower Jnr faithfully replicated the original Bentley Heritage car with Engine Turned Aluminium forming the dashboard itself.
A repurposed fuel pressure pump now serves as the drive mode selector, with a choice of Comfort (2 kW), Bentley (8 kW), or Sport for maximum power of 15 kW.
Meanwhile, Forward, Neutral, and Reverse can be selected via a lever that looks and feels like the ignition advance control from the original Blower.
Other switchgear for the headlights and indicators copies the form and materiality of the magneto switches from the Team Car, while the battery charge gauge recreates the original ammeter.
A USB charging point is discreetly concealed until required, and a dual-function display that serves as a Garmin satellite navigation screen and reversing camera completes the cabin.
Customers can also get an optional bespoke weekend bag that can be mounted behind the scaled-down and repurposed fuel tank complete with a lockable latch.
Bentley also revealed that the Crewe-based carmaker will release First Edition models of Blower Jnr.
“The first 99 examples of Blower Jnr will be First Edition Models. These will feature First Edition badging on the hood, door sill plate, and dash as well as an engraved and numbered ‘1 of 99’ plaque. All First Edition models will be finished in Blower Green, with matching painted chassis and wheels, and a Union flag hand-painted on both sides of the body as per the original, while the seats and interior are upholstered in the Dark Green Lustrana Hide used by Mulliner for the Blower Continuation Series. The side panel and radiator carry the period-correct racing number, while the steering wheel is rope-bound,” Bentley wrote in a press release.
Production of the Blower Jnr is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2024, starting with the 99 First Edition models.
