Bentley has announced that the production of the upcoming Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) has started at the company’s sustainable factory campus in Crewe.
To date, the Bentayga EWB reportedly accounted for approximately 40 percent of the total Bentayga orders.
“The new Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is the next chapter in the Bentagya story which, since the original luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) came to market in 2015, has transformed the sector and resulted in record sales. At Bentley, we collaborated with our customers to stretch the class-leading SUV’s breadth of ability even further, leading to a rear-cabin experience comparable to the legendary Mulsanne,” commented Bentley Motors Member of the Board for Manufacturing Peter Bosch.
“In our Crewe, UK Dream Factory, we combine the highest levels of innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Each car produced contains leading technology and is an artisanal piece of art, handcrafted using only the finest of materials, in true Bentley fashion. As part of the Bentley experience, our first EWB customers significantly personalized their orders and we are proud to now deliver the first highly bespoke cars of our new sector-defining pinnacle model,” he added.
Furthermore, Bentley confirmed the performance data of the Bentayga EWB. This is after the British carmaker secured the official certification for its upcoming luxury SUV.
According to the Crewe-based brand, the Bentley Bentayga EWB generated a maximum power output of 542 horsepower (hp) with 770Nm of almost instantaneous torque. The propulsion produced by its 4.0-liter, 32-valve, dual twin-scroll, turbocharged V8 gasoline engine allowed the Bentley Bentayga EWB to zoom from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 290kph.
