Per Bentley, its W12 Heritage Parade will see 12 W12-powered models, including seven cars from its expanded Heritage Collection. The British carmaker’s forthcoming attendance at the said event also coincides with the 20th anniversary of its W12 engine, which has been a powerful, reliable, refined, compact, and extremely efficient powerplant for its class.
The W12 engine, Bentley pointed out, has been the performance backbone of the brand since the launch of the Continental GT in 2003. Now, as Bentley continues on its Beyond100 journey to full electrification, the W12 is entering the final phase of production, with the last engine due to be built in April 2024.
One W12-fitted Bentley automobile is the Batur Zero-Zero. The durability prototype, one of only two Baturs currently in existence, will take on the famous Goodwood Hill Climb. It will be joined by the new Continental GT Le Mans Collection, which represents the pinnacle of W12 performance in Bentley’s mainstream model family.
Also making an appearance at the Goodwood Hill Climb is a bespoke Bentley Continental GTC Speed, featuring details from Mulliner’s Personal Commissioning Guide. Likewise, a Flying Spur Speed Edition 12 will flaunt its Opalite paintwork as it makes its way up the Hill.
The final W12-powered car to make daily appearances on the hillclimb will be the Bentley Continental GT Pikes Peak, the very car that set a new outright Production Class record at Pikes Peak in 2019.
Further, Bentley’s four-and-a-half-liter supercharged W12 — aka the Bentley Blower — will also grace the Goodwood Hill Climb.
Bentley will also be staging a W12 Heritage Parade in Goodwood with 12 W12-equipped cars (including seven cars from the expanded Heritage Collection) to trott in the Goodwood Estate.
