Bentley finally unveiled the newest member of the Bentayga family, the extended wheelbase version of the luxury grand touring SUV. Dubbed the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB), this new variant sees the Bentayga range extend to five models.
“The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is our first car truly dedicated to the onboard wellness of its occupants. Every Bentley gets you to your destination feeling more relaxed than when you started your journey, and yet with the Extended Wheelbase, we’ve been able to go even further thanks to the adoption of world-first wellness technology embedded within our unrivaled interior cabin design. In combination with the incredible skills of the craftspeople at our carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, these advances make the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase the ultimate luxury SUV to drive or be driven in,” said Bentley Motors Chairman and Chief Executive Adrian Hallmark.
The Bentayga EWB builds on the latest second-generation Bentayga, whose length has been stretched by 180mm. This results in a longer wheelbase that jumps from 2,995mm to 3,175mm, with an overall length of 5322mm. Per Bentley, the increase in length grants the Bentayga EWB an exceptionally luxurious rear cabin area.
It’s no surprise that the focus of the Bentayga EWB is found on the rear, after all, it’s a passenger’s SUV. That said the additional real estate at the rear gives way to the new Bentley Airline Seat, which Bentley claims to be “the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car, with 22 ways of adjustment and world-firsts in a new auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology.”
In addition to the upscale seats, the Bentayga EWB features new dual air ionizers, heated rear doors and center armrests, and a slew of premium elements that demonstrate new heights of craftsmanship and comfort.
And because it’s a Bentley, owners can order their Bentayga EWBs with the Mulliner Console Bottle Cooler that houses a fully integrated drink cooler for a 750 ml bottle, and two handcrafted Cumbria Crystal Flutes.
The added rear-end space allows the Bentayga EWB to offer a slew of wellness amenities such as the standard “waterfall illumination.”
Deliveries of the Bentayga EWB are expected to start in the last quarter of this year.
