In a recent media event, Chris Craft, sales and marketing chief at Bentley, revealed that the British luxury carmaker is pushing through with its strategy to electrify its entire lineup, with plans to eventually introduce its own electric vehicle (EV) in 2025.
"We will bring out hybrid versions of all our models by 2023," Craft told reporters.
This means that the Continental GT and flagship Mulsanne will get their own electrified versions in the next four years, although Craft did not reveal which model will receive the electric treatment first.
However, insiders are presuming that the upcoming models will have the same powertrain as the Bentayga Hybrid SUV plug-in electric, Bentley's first electrified vehicle launched last year.
According to Craft, electrifying their vehicles not only suit Bentley’s discerning customers, it also fits with the brand's luxury ethos.
"Over 30 percent of luxury buyers are interested in electric cars," Craft said. "That will be a big part of our future."
"The next big focal point is to launch our first full-electric car which we will do by 2025," he followed.
