There is no vehicle that is as romantic as a motor scooter. It has been repeatedly featured in numerous chick flicks, from the classics to the more contemporary models, the carefree, easy-going nature of these two-wheeled machines have captivated the hearts of unsuspecting would-be riders. Scooters come in many forms. Most come in plain, utilitarian styling while others have a more fashionable character and appearance. In any case you get an efficient, easy-to-use roundabout vehicle for running errands or taking your significant other to the neighborhood café. Yet, if you can’t get enough of them and you find yourself wanting to go on longer trips with your beloved, then, there is the maxi-scooter.The Suzuki Burgman is as “maxi” as you can get in terms of road presence and over all feel. First of all, the huge panels offer excellent protection from the elements.A large windscreen helps keep you comfortable by shielding you from wind, insects, and road debris. Caught in a drizzle? Just duck behind the screen and you’ll be fine. Vent duct located at bottom of windscreen reduces wind turbulence and increase comfort. The floor board design also allows you to place your feet forward cruiser-style. There are other creature comforts available to add more romance into your distance-riding. Two front storage compartments provide 7.0-liter capacity; one is lockable with ignition key, while the other is push-open for easy access. The lower lockable storage bay has a 12V DC outlet for charging electronic devices. A capacious, 41-litre under seat storage compartment can fit two full-face helmets. It even has a lamp for extra convenience at night. Plus, the seat is spring-loaded so it stays open while you rummage through your things. Talking about the seat, it is plush, and contoured to make it more elegant and to get that 735 mm rider-friendly seat height. The double stitching adds a distinctively fashionable accent. Worried about the rather low 200cc displacement? Well, don’t be. All it takes is a few moments on the saddle and you’ll know that there’s enough grunt to decently propel the Burgman even with two occupants. Also, in some countries, the Burgman is available only in 125cc. Talk about getting the short end of the stick. The ride is quite forgiving, especially to my old joints. The telescopic front forks and pre-load adjustable dual shocks in the rear smooth out bumps nicely. Currently, they only have a 10-unit monthly allocation and the first to arrive is already sold out. I suppose the Burgman is not for penny-pinchers but is for those with big love for scooters and their pillion. You can’t put a price on that. +superior comfort, friendly seat height, rider-centered features- price, might be cumbersome in rush hour traffic
