BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe All Set for June Unveiling
With so much buzz surrounding the concept version when BMW unveiled back in 2017, it's no surprise that the German car brand decided to put BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe into production. Now, the car is officially upon us, with plans for a big reveal between June 25 and 27 of this year at the BMW Group #NextGen event in Munich. A worldwide launch will follow in September.
The announcement for the unveiling came via a teaser press release from BMW that doesn't really show much of a car, displaying only the car's roofline and door shapes and nothing more. From the looks of it though, it's easy to see that the car has four doors with a really lengthy wheelbase.
Here’s an excerpt from the press release for the newcomer:
"The new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe fuses breathtaking performance credentials with an emotion-stirring design and spacious rear compartment. Its standalone character is brought to the fore most prominently by a design as graceful as it is flamboyant. Athletic proportions and dynamically flowing lines come together to create an aura of sporting exclusivity. The two extra doors and impressive space for rear passengers combine with the extended wheelbase and duly enhanced ride comfort to make the new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe an outstanding operator both in everyday driving and over longer journeys."
Upon its release, the 8-Series Gran Coupe model formally joins the 4-Series Gran Coupe in the lineup and replaces the 6-Series Gran Coupe in the process.
