“The BMW Concept Touring Coupé celebrates the original ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure.’ A highly emotional vehicle like this shows that the passion for everything that goes into driving pleasure has been essential through the ages and will be for the future,” BMW Design Head Domagoj Dukec was quoted saying.
Per the Munich-headquartered brand, the BMW Concept Touring Coupé features a specially designed BMW kidney grille with longitudinal bars. Similarly special is the Sparkling Lario exterior paintwork, which was specifically created for the one-off automobile.
The unique hue — BMW explained — flaunts grey-brown colors with embedded flakes of blue glass that give off a unique impression of depth. Silver-bronze accents complement its modern old-money look.
It also wears exclusive 20-spoke light alloy wheels that measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.
Still from the side, the BMW Concept Touring Coupé boasts a long bonnet, streamlined roof contours, and a powerful rear section that forms a distinctive two-box design. Meanwhile, its elongated side window graphic with the Hofmeister kink and flared rear wheel arches underline its sporty elegance.
At the rear, the flowing contours of the roof, which merge seamlessly with the rear side panels, accentuate the BMW Concept Touring Coupé’s athletic shoulders. Further, the flat rear window and clearly defined body surfaces emphasize the vehicle’s solid stance.
Inside, the BMW Concept Touring Coupé wows occupants with a host of premium appointments. Notable is the two-tone trim that divides the interior horizontally into two distinct color segments. Masterfully created by the Italian leather workshop Poltrona Frau, the upper section of the cabin has a dark brown tone while the lower section has a light saddle brown shade.
According to BMW, the color of the upper section aids concentration while driving while the tint offered by the lower section brings comfort and warmth into the interior.
In addition, the precise perforations and braided leather straps on the seat valences and slide bar highlight the artisan character of the BMW Concept Touring Coupé’s cabin.
Likewise impressive is the luggage designed exclusively for the BMW Concept Touring Coupé. Crafted by the long-established Schedoni leather workshop in Modena, the custom-made set consists of two large and one small weekender bag, plus a garment bag, all of which are perfectly coordinated with the vehicle.
“The hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind BMW Concept Touring Coupé unites a body concept steeped in tradition with the technology of a purist modern-day sports car. Its proportions and name are reminiscent of the BMW 328 Touring Coupé that won the Mille Miglia endurance race back in 1940,” BMW wrote in a press release.
