BMW Motorrad Philippines might be revealing the all-new R 1300 GS Adventure this week.
Such a guess was deduced after the San Miguel Corporation-led motorcycle distributor posted over its social media pages a picture of an adventure motorcycle that looks like the BMW R 1300 GS.
Based on the photo, the motorcycle is to be formally introduced on Thursday (October 24).
“Get ready to meet the flagship of BMW Motorrad’s adventure segment. Made for longer rides, all-day comfort, and performance to take you anywhere,” the separate postings on Facebook and Instagram pages stated.
Last year, BMW Motorrad Philippines started retailing the BMW R 1300 GS in the country. The said model is currently available in three trims namely Trophy, Triple Black, and the Option 17 Tramuntana — the Adventure option (the badge’s top-spec option) yet to be included.
Should our speculation be spot on, here are its probable specifications as seen in markets abroad.
Overseas, the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is 2,280 millimeters (mm) long; 1,012 mm wide; and 870-890 mm saddle height. Its tank can carry 30 liters of fuel.
Wearing that distinct sporty aesthetic, the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure in markets outside the country carries an all-LED illumination system (headlamp, daytime running lights, two extra-flat auxiliary headlamps, and turn signals).
Under the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure’s tank is a 1,300 cubic centimeter twin-cylinder mill that on paper, can dish out a maximum of 145 horsepower and 149 Newton-meters of torque.
It also features an automated shift assistant for fully automatic clutch actuation with manual or automated shifting.
Just like any BMW models, the R 1300 GS Adventure is also equipped with numerous safety, security, convenience, and comfort features.
Below are some of the technologies that may be found in the arriving model:
Should it arrive in the Philippines, the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is expected to wear a P1.9-P2 million price tag as it will serve as the nameplate’s crème dela crème variant — sitting above the Tramuntana option.
