BMW surprises customers with festive holiday animations

This holiday season, BMW surprises its customers with festive animations for Christmas and the New Year. According to a recent press release published by the German carmaker, festive music will play with atmospheric ambient lighting accompanying the festive message inside the car.

    From December 31 onwards, another app symbol in the Control Display with a stylized firework will celebrate the New Year. There is also a New Year’s message from BMW with festive music and an ambient light show in the vehicle.

    Owners can play the messages as often as they like by tapping on the app icon.

    BMW says that more and more customers around the world will see the personalized festive greetings in their BMW with each passing year. This year, 48 BMW markets are already transmitting the New Year’s message to over 2.6 million BMW vehicles. To display the festive animations, the vehicles need to have the appropriate optional equipment and a BMW iDrive with Operating System 7 or Operating System 8 and have a production date after July 2020.
