BMW unveils unique iX1 created by Marc Brandenburg

BMW has unveiled a unique iX1 created by Marc Brandenburg, which was presented in the garden of the Städel Museum in Germany.

The BMW iX1 served as a fitting canvas for Brandenburg’s piece where the artist implemented the aspects of time, space, and speed in the electric sport utility vehicle (SUV).

No changes were made to the components of the BMW iX1, though. The battery electric vehicle (BEV) retained its powertrain setup, which consists of two electric motors that put out as much as 313 horsepower and 494 Newton-meters of torque.

Additionally, the battery still offers an estimated all-electric range of up to 429 kilometers.

BMW also renewed its partnership with the Städel Museum, which will see the return of a joint event series dubbed Städel Invites.

Brandenburg’s artwork on the BMW iX1 was the highlight of the said partnership between the automotive brand and the art institution.

The BMW iX1 design created by Marc Brandenburg is the perfect kick-off for a new long-term collaboration that will generate many more inspiring encounters with artists via the Städel Invites format,” commented BMW Member of the Board of Management responsible for Human Resources and Real Estate Ilka Horstmeier.

The said initiative — launched by the museum and the carmaker last year — aims to make contemporary art accessible to a wide audience in a relaxed atmosphere. On that note, Städel Invites showcases exhibitions by selected contemporary artists, as well as talks and short tours.

“The Städel Museum and BMW are united by an aspiration: to inspire quality and people. Art plays a key role here — it inspires and motivates us to go further and dare to take new paths. To stand alongside our joint event series, Städel Invites, and a film series in which contemporary artists also present their works in relation to the Städel collection, the BMW iX1 designed by Marc Brandenburg is truly special. I am delighted by this partnership with BMW. We will achieve a great deal together in the coming years,” Städel Museum Director Philipp Demandt said.
