Isuzu Bulacan 18th ISSO

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has recently concluded the latest edition of its dealer-networks’ service skills contest wherein its Bulacan dealership was hailed as the overall champion.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When did Isuzu Bulacan have the overall victory at the local Isuzu Service Skills Olympics?

Isuzu had the overall ISSO championship title in 2021.
  • Who was the special guest at the 18th ISSO?

IML Executive Officer and Vice President for Aftersales Naohiko Yanagawa was the special guest in the competition.
  • In a statement, the Japanese marque’s local arm said that after tallying the points for the 18th Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO), the brand's sales facility in Central Luzon region was hailed as the victor.

To note, the aforementioned outlet was the 16th ISSO top winner.

For this year, Isuzu Bulacan bested 28 other teams from various dealerships around the country. Each team is made up of a Service Advisor, Parts Staff and two Service Technicians who each went to varying stages of knowledge and skills testing related to their respective roles in the service shop.

    18th ISSO

Winners of this year’s ISSO for Service Advisor Category were Maria Noemi Cabaltera (Isuzu Makati) followed by Marius Adrian Pablo (Isuzu Cabanatuan) and Cryser Ryan Carmona (Isuzu Pasig).

Meanwhile, Riza May Cabus (Isuzu Pagbilao), followed by Felipines Bangcaya (Isuzu Bulacan) and Hazel Ann Ramos (Isuzu Calapan) were the winners in the Parts Staff Category.

Lastly, the 18th ISSO Service Technician Category Champions were Isuzu Bulacan’s Deolito Galono and Raymundo Eduque III. They were trailed by Isuzu Pasig tandem of Christopher Jateco and Romeo Nayanga Jr. as well as Isuzu Cagayan de Oro’s Sani James Maghanoy and Alex Roble.

Aimed to showcase the technical competency and service knowledge of Isuzu aftersales personnel nationwide, the ISSO has been running 18 seasons already.

In his welcome remarks, IPC President Tetsuya Fujita commended the excellent aftersales service of Isuzu's local dealer network.

“With your commitment, we are able to achieve the number one truck brand title for 23 consecutive years. People continue to trust the Isuzu brand because of the Isuzu advantage that we offer which is our top-notch aftersales service and support,” he said.

In addition, Fujita also acknowledged the networks’ efforts that enabled the company to achieve the coveted Triple Star Award for four consecutive years awarded by its principal company Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan (IML).

For his part, IML Executive Officer and Vice President for Aftersales Naohiko Yanagawa — who graced the competition — gave his sincere appreciation to Filipino service.

“Globally, Filipinos are known to be very talented and dedicated workers, which is why it is not surprising that almost every year Isuzu Philippines will get a podium finish at the Isuzu I-1 Grand Prix World Technical Competition (I-1GP),” Yanagawa said.

Yanagawa mentioned that the ISSO also serves as a platform for selecting the team that will represent IPC in the prestigious I-1GP Competition in Japan to be held later this year. Since joining in 2006, IPC has been a consistent top performer for both the commercial vehicle and light commercial vehicle categories competing against other Isuzu serving countries worldwide.
