You’ll be swamped by a number of options if you’re looking for a brand-new car that’s ideal for the urban jungle. We, at Carmudi Philippines, are here to help you narrow down your choice.
Have you considered buying the Ford Fiesta hatchback? Whatever your answer is, here’s a rundown of the essential features that come with the Fiesta hatch.
The Ford Fiesta hatch is available in three variants: (1) 1.5-liter Trend MT, (2) 1.5-liter Trend AT, and (3) 1.0-liter EcoBoost AT. The entry level Trend MT is priced is at P755,000 while the top-of-the-line EcoBoost AT has a sticker price of P905,000. Here’s a quick rundown of things you’ll get with the top variant Ford Fiesta hatch.
The EcoBoost AT is powered by Ford’s 1.0-liter engine, which is named as the International Engine of the Year (under the 1.0-liter engine category) for six year in a row. This feat will give you a peace of mind that the Fiesta EcoBoost AT variant is equipped with a good power unit.
In case you’re wondering, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine of the Ford Fiesta hatch delivers 123 hp and 170 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with a Hill Launch Assist (HLA) feature, which will come in handy if you find yourself crawling through traffic in uphill roads. The Fiesta’s HLA holds the vehicle for about three seconds when you’re on an incline road. As such, the Fiesta will not roll backwards when you take your foot off the brake to put it on the accelerator. This feature will also be beneficial for new drivers--no more horrific "hanging" moments.
Driving around tight city streets is no sweat when you’re on board the Fiesta hatch due to the Electronic Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS). The EPAS makes the steering to have a light feel, which is useful when you have to weave through traffic and when you need to tackle tight parking spaces. It also adjusts automatically and makes the steering firmer when you’re driving at a faster speed.
In addition, the top-of-the-line Fiesta hatch is equipped with Rain-Sensing Wipers and Auto Headlights. Rain-Sensing Wipers turn-on automatically and adjust their speed for heavy or light rain. On the other hand, Auto Headlights turn-on automatically when there’s not enough light.
