Looking to usher in a “new age of excellence,” the local arm of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC) has introduced the all-new GS8 sport utility vehicle (SUV).
With looks that exude opulence and luxury, the GAC GS8 can definitely turn heads anywhere it goes. But is its interior as much of a show-stopper as its exterior? Find out as we take a look at what’s inside its classy cabin.
Inside the GAC GS8 are plenty of leather trims. They can be found on the car’s multi-functional steering wheel, its plush and comfortable seats, as well as its first-row and second-row armrests. Leather-like soft-touch appliques can also be seen on the SUV’s door trims and its dashboard.
The addition of these materials contributes to how grand the interior of the GAC GS8 looks. Not only do the leather accents feel good to touch but the leather-wrapped seats are comfortable to sit in.
Further, the leather material on the steering wheel features perforations that allow breathability. The thumb rests on the steering wheel also helps to make driving on long trips more comfortable.
Having rear A/C vents on your SUV is not exactly something to write home about. However, we found that the one fitted on the GAC GS8 has noteworthy features that could make the life of one’s second-row and third-row passengers more agreeable.
Just under the GAC GS8 SUV’s front center armrests, for example, are tactile controls for adjusting the vehicle’s three-zone automatic air conditioning system.
The GAC GS8 is also equipped with large digital screens.
Past the steering wheel with paddle shifters is a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Here, relevant driving information is displayed allowing drivers to stay updated on important driving data.
Just beside it is a larger-than-life 14.6-inch HD LCD touchscreen infotainment system. With large screen real estate, drivers and front-row passengers alike can enjoy the GAC GS8’s suite of advanced technological features — like the HD surround vision parking system.
The infotainment unit of the GAC GS8 is also capable of features like phone mirroring, among others. And it also comes with a wireless phone charger, which is always a plus.
Should the GAC GS8’s occupants get tired of the air conditioning and would want a whiff of fresh air, the SUV can open its large panoramic sunroof allowing passengers to feel a little closer to nature.
The GAC GS8 is currently offered in a single variant with a special introductory price of P2.298 million.
