CALAX Subsection 3 now 44% complete
MANILA: The 8.64-kilometer (km) Subsection 3 of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is now 44 percent complete.

Per DPWH some 45,000 vehicles use CALAX daily, which is expected to increase upon completion of the remaining sections.Per the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the said portion of the toll road, which connects to the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange, will ease traffic congestion along key routes in Cavite.
Once finished, it will be the longest operational segment of CALAX and will bring the overall progress of the 44.58-km expressway to over 68 percent.
The DPWH has finished the road right-of-way (RROW) acquisition in the Laguna Segment and is currently fast-tracking RROW for the Cavite Segment which is currently at 90.71 percent.
To date, construction of some 17.4 km of the expressway has been finished and is fully operational. The said portion includes four interchanges and one toll barrier in Laguna and Cavite.
“CALAX now caters an average daily traffic of 45,000 vehicles and is expected to increase to 90,000 upon realization of the remaining sections,” the DPWH said in a press release.
President Ferdinand. Marcos Junior, DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Department of Transportation Secretary Vivencio Dizon, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation Chairman Manuel Pangilinan, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Jose Maria Lim inspected the CALAX Governor’s Drive Interchange in Silang, Cavite last Friday.
