Cheapo vs. expensive. Upstart vs. established. David vs. Goliath. This is the face-off we have today, as we compare the top-end models of the Chinese-made Baic BJ20 with the Honda CR-V.
The Baic BJ20 was launched globally in 2016, and came into the country last year. It has two available variants, both equipped with CVT. The top-end model comes with panoramic sunroof, welcome pedal, electric folding door mirrors, reverse camera, and cruise control. It is currently on its first generation.
The Honda CR-V holds the distinction as the pioneer of the crossover revolution. It is a huge selling SUV in the country, and one of the most well-equipped. When Honda debut the CR-V's fifth generation locally back in 2017, it was an instant hit, selling a total of 2,799 units for the year. Notable features in the latest CR-V include a Nine-Speed Automatic Transmission with Electronic Gear Selector, All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) Torque Indicator, and ECON Mode.
