Honda Europe has recently announced the winner of the 2021 European Honda Customs dealer contest naming the CB650R Fenix as the triumphant top dog of the bike build-off competition.
Built by Portugal’s Mototrofa Honda dealership, the CB650R Fenix competed against some of the biggest bike dealerships in Europe, including Werther Honda and Espace Motos from France who came in second and third, respectively.
The CB650R Fenix earned nearly 29 percent of total votes on the Honda Customs website.
Mototrofa Honda’s winning build was made up of a single-sided swingarm and rear wheel from a VFR750F and a front-wheel from a CBR900RR FireBlade. Parts like the seat and rear cowl, as well as the “93” paint scheme (by Nexx Helmets), were custom-built to pay homage to the year Mototrofa was founded and to Marc Marquez.
On the other hand, the CB650R BMX built by the Nice-based Werther Honda took inspiration from its namesake motorcycle. It features gloss black paint, black forks, and striking gold engine cases that matched its gold wheels that were paired with whitewall tires. A full Akrapovič exhaust system not only adds to its looks but also improves on its performance.
Meanwhile, Espace Motos’ CB650R Limited Edition harks back to the legendary CB750 Four and dons a higher, flatter brown leather seat, rich green paint with gold pinstriping, and a classic 1980s Honda Wing logo.
Those who visited the Honda Customs website were able to choose from 10 of the best dealer-built custom CB650Rs from Spain, France, and Portugal which were scheduled to be showcased at the canceled Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz.
