Celebrity-owned Aston Martins to go under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions ‘Classic Sale’

Silverstone Auctions announces that two celebrity-owned Aston Martins will be part of their upcoming “Classic Sale” scheduled on Friday, July 30, until Sunday, August 1.

The Aston Martins to go under the hammer are the 1979 Aston Martin V8 Volante originally supplied new to Roger Taylor of Queen and the 1990 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe X-Pack (Manual) previously owned by Jay Kay of Jamiroquai.

Jay Kay’s 1990 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe X-Pack (Manual) will be the first of the two unicorns to be on sale. The “rare and highly desirable, UK-supplied, genuine factory-built V8 Vantage X-Pack” will be open for bidding on July 31.

This Vantage Coupe X-Pack features a stunning Litchfield Black Metallic finish and is complemented by soft black hide, figured walnut, and black carpets. It’s one of only 95 units produced.

On August 1, the 1979 Aston Martin V8 Volante previously owned by Queen’s Roger Taylor will be on sale. The convertible is finished in Buckingham Greenwith re-trimmed Magnolia leather.

Silverstone Auctions say that the 1990 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe X-Pack (Manual) will have an estimated value of £340,000 to £380,000 while the 1979 Aston Martin V8 Volante will be somewhere around £140,000 to £160,000.

“Both of these stunning Astons have significant celebrity provenance from the music industry, resulting in unique opportunities for our buyers. We have a dedicated viewing day on Friday 30th July in The Wing building at Silverstone Circuit between the hours of 9 a.m. through to 6 p.m. and we recommend interested bidders utilize this day to inspect cars of interest and their associated history files,” said Silverstone Auctions Sales Controller Gary Dunne.

Other automotive memorabilia will be auctioned in the Classic Sale including watches, registration numbers, tool kits, and limited-edition prints says Silverstone Auctions.
