According to CMC, the Hari ng Kalsada modern PUV carries the famous designs of the iconic mass transport system — from the graphics, colors to the iconic egg fenders and the horses — while combining the new features of the modern PUV.

The company cited that Filipino jeepneys evolved as time went by. Starting from the Willys military jeep left by the Americans, the jeeps were converted by adding bench seats at the rear.

Fast forward to 2017, the PUV modernization program (PUVMP) started that led to the development of models that are based on standards imposed by the national government.

“Centro has been at the forefront in the development of the modern PUVs as it has supported the government’s PUVMP from the very start, developing modern PUV bodies for almost all light truck platforms locally available. With Centro’s concept vehicle fusing the old and the new, it is expected to bring back the Hari ng Kalsada to what it was during the heydays of the old PUJs,” CMC shared in a statement.
