Changan CS35 Plus owners attest vehicle’s abilities

Changan Motor Philippines Inc. (CMPI) has shared the words of three CS35 Plus owners attesting to the vehicle’s capabilities.

In a statement, IT professionals Jay Clemente and Athan Alonzo, as well as businessman Mark Banayad form part of the number of individuals who have trusted the Chinese automotive brand’s crossover offering which was introduced locally some two years ago.

Clemente admitted that he purchased the Changan CS35 Plus without prior knowledge on the brand — but has enjoyed the vehicle’s value since he acquired it.

“I knew nothing about the brand (but) the aesthetic quality of the exterior and interior amazed me. I asked more about it. I took the risk and up till now, it still amazes me, my family, and friends,” he said.

“The driving’s really great, the aesthetic value of the exterior, the interiors, and the infotainment. Sound system is my number one factor for considering a car and having a silent cabin while driving is really a good experience every time,” he added.

Meanwhile, Banayad shared that his first encounter with the Changan CS35 Plus was at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show. According to him, he was impressed with its performance and pricing.

After reading more about the brand online, he decided to get the vehicle in Draco Red body color for his family to enjoy.

“Napa-wow ako sa engine performance. You can overtake those long trucks, the 10-wheelers, hindi ka kakabahan. Naipasok nila ang adaptive cruise control, AEB (automatic emergency brakes), digital cluster, and panoramic sunroof. All those high-tech features which you get in cars worth P5 million and up. So, why Changan? Sulit sa pera yung comfort at excitement na ibibigay niya (I was wowed by the engine performance. You can overtake those long trucks, the 10 wheelers, you won't be nervous. They have introduced adaptive cruise control, AEB, digital cluster, and panoramic sunroof. All those high-tech features which you get in cars worth P5 million and up. So, why Changan? The comfort and excitement that will be provided is worth the money),” he said.

For his part, Alonzo was already considering another car brand when he stumbled across the CS35 Plus. Up to today, the country’s first owner of the new Changan CS35 Plus Luxe cannot stop raving.

 “I like best the daytime running lights and taillights — sobrang pogi. Ang interior, malaki; sobrang packed ng features. Super smooth ang performance. Ang upuan, parang nakaupo ka sa yayamaning couch. Sulit (I like best the daytime running lights and taillights — they are very good looking. The interior is very big and packed with features. The performance is super smooth. The seat feels like you are sitting on an expensive couch. It was a very good deal)!” he said.

At first, normal lang ang malakas sa gas consumption but over time, tumitipid — lalo na noong nag-first PMS, lalo siyang tumipid, lalong gumanda ang takbo (At first, it's normal to have a high gas consumption, but over time, it has become fuel efficient — especially when it had its first PMS, it became more fuel-efficient and performance got better),” he added.

In addition, Clemente noted that “everything about the Changan CS35 Plus is something that owners can be proud of. “It’s a product of excellence. I have been driving it for two years and I still feel proud. Hindi siya nakakasawang i-drive (You will never get bored of driving it). You’ll find great things, learn new things as you drive it.”  

“Other brands have come ahead of it, pero hindi magpapatalo ang Changan (but Changan will not be lagging behind),” Mark enthused. “Ang comfort at excitement na ibibigay niya when you drive it ay talagang on point (The comfort and excitement it gives when you drive it is really on point).”

Lastly, Alonzo urged buyers to give Chinese brands like Changan a chance, saying that a lot has improved since it was first introduced in the country. “Hindi mo malalaman kung hindi mo susubukan. This is my testament as an owner of a CS35 Plus: great experience, worth buying, a great option. Sulit ang pera mo, busog ka pa sa features. Wala ka nang hahanapin; wala kang babaguhin (You'll never know if you don't try. This is my testament as an owner of a CS35 Plus: great experience, worth buying, a great option. It's worth your money, you'll have full set of features. You would not look for more features; you don’t need to change anything in it).”

The Changan CS35 Plus is powered by a 1.4-liter gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Offered in three trims, the vehicle showcases the brand's Safetech driver assistive features that include front collision warning, autonomous emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, around view camera and monitor system and six-airbag system.
