Changan Motor Philippines Inc. (CMPI) unleashed the CS55 Plus in the latter part of 2022. Its arrival in the local compact crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment meant that Filipino car buyers now have more options when shopping for an affordable modern family carrier.
Sure, the Changan CS55 Plus does sport advanced automotive technologies and notable safety features, but have you seen its palette of attractive hues?
That said, we break down the four available colors for the locally-available Changan CS55 Plus.
This pitch-black paint brings out the elegant appeal of the Changan CS55 Plus. The dark finish blends well with the SUV’s colossal grille, its black front bumper, black wheel arches, black roof-mounted spoiler, and black rear bumper.
While others may argue that black can make the Changan CS55 Plus difficult to see at night, it does compensate with its suite of LED lights, which can be found on its headlamps, daytime running lamps, turn signals, taillights, and high-mount stop lamp.
White has been one of the safest colors on cars. Studies show that white-colored vehicles are less involved in vehicular accidents compared to those finished in different hues.
And while we’re on the topic of safety, the Changan CS55 Plus boasts a few notable safety features like an anti-lock braking system with electronic stability control, an electronic stability program, a traction control system, brake assist, hill hold control, hill descent control, a rollover mitigation system, rear parking sensors, an electronic parking brake, and a tire pressure monitor, among others.
Changan also equipped the CS55 Plus with the Changan Safe-Tech advanced driver assistance system, which includes cruise control, lane departure warning, a lane keeping assist system, forward collision warning, traffic jam assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
This gray paint makes the Changan CS55 Plus appear more luxurious compared to the other hues on offer.
Perfectly matching the vibe are elegant features found inside its cabin such as leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a shift handle finished in the same material.
Its range-topping variant also boasts a 10-inch fully-digital instrument panel and a large 12.3-inch infotainment system with Mirror Link and Apple CarPlay.
Like most cars, the Changan CS55 Plus looks somewhat fast in red.
Powering the SUV is a 1.5-liter engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with three drive modes: Normal, Sport, and Eco.
This setup makes 184 horses with 300 Newton meters of torque.
The Changan CS55 Plus is offered in three variants: Lite, Hype, and Luxe. It is priced from P1.179 million to P1.373 million.
