Upcoming utility vehicle can be customized to fit various needs
Prior to the model's availability in the local market, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) already started showcasing the flexibility of the all-new Tamaraw.
At a media event, the Japanese automotive manufacturer’s local arm shared some of the prototypes of the vehicle — built on the IMV 0 platform — that would fit various purposes.
Most of the displays at the event had panel van body versions designed to carry cargo or passengers. The said version can be utilized in courier and public transport businesses — even as ambulances.
The upcoming all-new Toyota Tamaraw also showed a closed van option fitted for last-mile deliveries, which can be used to deliver agricultural products.
Meanwhile, the vehicle also had a dropside version that construction supply firms can take advantage of.
Lastly, the arriving model can be used with a patrol van body for law enforcement agencies.
To recall, the all-new Toyota Tamaraw was initially unveiled in the country by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Chair Akio Toyoda during TMP’s 35th-year anniversary celebration in August last year. During the said event, the vehicle had modern public utility vehicle and drift truck configurations.
The company heavily invested in the creation of an assembly line of the next-generation Tamaraw. Per TMP, it shelled out P4.4 billion for the updating of the existing facility in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
TMP is expected to share the model’s specifications and pricing in the latter part of the year.
