Comebacking Chinese automotive brand Chery has officially unveiled the all-new Tiggo 7 Pro compact crossover to open the year 2021.
Following the sneak peek during the online version of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS Wired) in December 2020, the latest Tiggo 7 Pro has been formally launched during a Facebook Live event.
Eyed to “provide the design and technology found in luxury models in the category at an affordable pricing,” Chery Auto Philippines—under the United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI)—is optimistic with their latest offering.
Chery Auto Philippines President Rommel Sytin expressed excitement over the unveiling. "We are excited to finally give the full reveal of our all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. With its upmarket styling and luxury features, we expect it to surprise and delight Filipinos longing for the design and technology found in high-end luxury SUVs, but at a much more affordable price point," he said.
To note, UAAGI is also the distributor for another Chinese vehicle manufacturer, Foton.
Going back, The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro's design language was made by Chery Vice President and Global Chief of Car Design Kevin Rice. The all-new Tiggo 7 Pro sports a huge grille and LED headlamps and complementing the illumination are LED foglamps and daytime running lights (DRLs). The vehicle also boasts a floating roof effect with its black wrap-around rear pillars. Giving it a commanding stance is the 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/60R18 tires. Seen at the rear are taillights that are connected by a red strip (similar to some luxury brands) and chrome tipped dual tailpipes and spoiler for that sporty appeal.
Inside, the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro has a leather covered cabin, power adjustable bucket styled front seats, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen six-speaker infotainment system where you can connect your mobile device via Bluetooth, Mirror Link, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and USB. The air-conditioning system can be accessed via touch-panel control.
Further, the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is equipped with Smart Key, that can start the engine, turn on the air-conditioners, open the tailgate and windows at a push of a button and a wireless mobile phone charger and three USB ports.
It also is supplied with other premium technologies, including a panoramic sunroof, welcome lights, multi-color cabin ambient lighting, 360-degree HD camera, a power tailgate, a push-button electronic parking brake, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear camera with front and rear proximity sensors, and a digital instrument cluster.
Powering the all-new Tiggo 7 Pro is a 1.5L turbocharged DOHC 16-valve Euro 5-compliant four-cylinder engine coupled to a nine-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT).
For safety, the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro placed a myriad of features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Assist Control (HDC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and ISOFIX child-seat tethers. Adding to these is the Brake Override System, which automatically overrides the throttle when the gas and brake pedals are accidentally depressed at the same time.
