Chery Auto PH sets newest monthly sales milestone in May 2023

Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) has set a new milestone last May after selling 323 units.

In a statement, the Chinese automaker’s local arm said that the aforementioned volume reflected a 51-percent increase compared to the 214 examples turned over to customers in April 2023.

The company attributed the stellar gain to the strong sales thrust provided by Tiggo models 5X and 7 Pro.  

Further, CAP shared that the performance also helped the firm gained a top-10 ranking in the passenger vehicle segment (excluding pick-up trucks, vans, and commercial vehicles), based on the latest data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).

To recall the United Asia Automotive Group (UAAGI)-led distributor joined CAMPI last year.

Year on year, CAP recorded a 2.4-percent climb after its total sales for the first five months of 2023 reached 1,286 units.

“This record-breaking sales for the month of May and our positive year-on-year sales growth mark the start of Chery’s more aggressive approach in taking the brand to the next level. We are committed to establish Chery as one of the top brands chosen by the discerning Filipino car buyers,” UAAGI Chairman Rommel Sytin was quoted as saying.

“As we continue to build on the brand’s strength in aftersales service, expect us to further strengthen our sales, marketing, network expansion, and product development efforts to ensure Chery’s success in the coming months and years,” he added.  

Moreover, CAP said that the brand is eyeing to bolster its presence by “offering crossovers with outstanding value for money as defined by stylish exteriors, high-technology, eco-friendly, and top quality that caters to the diverse needs of the Filipino car buyers.”

In addition, the firm said that it also gearing towards strengthening its position in the Philippine automotive industry.

“With CAP’s recent significant sales performance, the company is well on its way to achieving this objective to stay and make a mark in the Philippine automotive market for the long haul,” the distributor ended.
