Chevrolet Philippines has officially launched the latest iteration of the Trailblazer, which will start competing under the compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) division unlike the midsize SUV model that it was previously known for locally.
The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI)-Chevrolet Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Albert Arcilla expressed excitement over the introduction of the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer to the local automotive scene.
“The Trailblazer is a continuation of the new design language for Chevy’s crossover family and extends our momentum into one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments. It continues the SUV heritage of the revered nameplate and is now loaded with safety and convenience features that anticipate the needs of today’s most discerning customers,” Arcilla said.
The all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is said to be developed for the “forward-thinking, tech-savvy, and independent audience.”
Manufactured at the General Motors Incheon plant in South Korea, the said model is built on a global GM platform that is also available in North America, South Korea, China.
According to Chevrolet director of global compact SUV Stuart Norris, “the Trailblazer doesn’t simply let customers express their personal style — it encourages it... Its design is bold, confident, and full of personality.”
On the outside, the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer, wears a Camaro-inspired front fascia with LED for its headlamps, daytime running lights and fog lamps, flanking the signature dual-port grille. Meanwhile, its rear features a LED high-mount stop lamp, a hands-free power liftgate and LED taillamps. The 17-inch alloy wheels complement the overall athletic design of the new-generation Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Contrary to the previous diesel-fed engine that the previous local version wore, this one now has a 1.3-liter inline three-cylinder DOHC turbocharged engine that can deliver up to 155hp and 236Nm of torque. This power mill is mated to a six-speed front-wheel-drive Hydramatic VT40 Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
It also has been engineered to have the following driver assistive technologies:
Apart from that, the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer also comes with a host of brake assist systems such as Brake Pre-Fill, Fading Brake Assist (FBA), and Panic Brake Assist (PBA).
It also has Mini Spare Detection, Torque Vectoring by Brakes (TVBB), Electronic Power Steering (EPS) is equipped standard, as well as a Push Button starter.
The interior of the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is dressed in jet-black leather with white stitching. It features an eight-inch MyLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, heated seats for front occupants and is fitted with an automatic HVAC with Air Moisture Sensor and AC Cabin Pollen Filter.
The second row can be folded 60/40 and the cargo area has a two-tier floor layout.
Standard safety features that are equipped on the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer include three-point seatbelts for all five occupants; six airbags (driver, front passenger, side and curtain); four-eye rear sensors with a camera; a tire pressure monitoring system and tire-fill alert.
