Chevrolet Training Academy recently conducted a Regional Skills Contest for its top technicians, sales consultants and service advisors from its dealerships in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Cambodia at the Chevrolet Training Center in Bangkok.
"The annual Regional Skills Contest is an important part of our commitment to delivering the best ownership experience to our customers, by continually improving the skills of our teams and fostering a culture of customer service excellence in our dealerships," said Ian Nicholls, President of GM Southeast Asia.
The Skills Contest is the highest level of competition for technicians, sales consultants, and service advisors from Chevrolet dealerships across Southeast Asia. It was first introduced at the national level in 2012 and is now in its fifth regional edition.
All 26 participants to the Regional Skills Contest have been identified as top performers in their respective countries.
Contestants are put through a series of challenges that test their product knowledge, their ability to provide solutions, their sales and aftersales skills, and their technical ability.
The sales and service assessment methodology features multiple stations covering web-based knowledge tests, product demonstrations and situation-based real-life scenarios like vehicle delivery to customers.
The assessment for technicians also features multiple stations covering web-based tests, on vehicle diagnosis, and on testing and measurement procedures on various electrical and mechanical stations. For the vehicle diagnosis section, technicians work on the Chevrolet Colorado and Chevrolet Trailblazer which are all sold across Southeast Asia.
Trendy Anne Tamayo from Chevrolet Davao in the Philippines, who has been named one of the three best service advisors in Southeast Asia said, "I am very happy and proud to represent the Philippines today and to be named 'Best of the Best' in the Service Advisor category. I think I have won today because I have managed to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in every test that I had to take during the contest. I hope this award will inspire and motivate everyone at Chevrolet Philippines so that we deliver the best experience possible for our customers."
Through the Regional Skills Contest, Chevrolet has been able to further enhance Complete Care, Chevrolet's comprehensive customer care program, by encouraging every dealer technician, sales consultant, service advisor and every Chevrolet employee to adopt a customer-centric approach.
"We strive to continuously raise the level of our sales and aftersales service to provide our customers with the best possible ownership experience. We are all committed to putting customers at the center of everything we do," said Sumito Ishii, Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing for GM Southeast Asia.
