Chevrolet PH targets 12% of segment by 2022 via all-new Trailblazer
The leadership of Chevrolet Philippines is targeting to corner up to 12 percent market share by next year with the introduction of the all-new 2022 Trailblazer.
In an interview, The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI)-Chevrolet Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Albert Arcilla told Carmudi Philippines that the initial target share is a seven-to-eight-percent hold of the compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment, through their newly-launched offering.
“But as we grow into the second quarter of next year, when we feel that more of our clients will be more familiar with the design elements and features of this new iteration of the Trailblazer, we have very optimistic targets, and the dealers and bank partners are one with us,” Atty. Arcilla said.
“Hopefully, we get to communicate it well. We really want to achieve 10 to 12 percent market share,” he added.
TCCCI-Chevrolet First Vice President and Director for Product Development and Distribution Services David Ma. Antonio Zaballero said on the average, the monthly segment sales ranges from 1,100-1,200 units. Chevrolet is looking to turn over 80-90 units to customers.
The all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer may have shrunk in size but is engineered to be heavy on technological features as it is developed for the “forward-thinking, tech-savvy, and independent audience.”
Powering the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a 1.3-liter inline three-cylinder DOHC turbocharged engine that has a peak output of 155hp and 236Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired to a six-speed front-wheel-drive Hydramatic VT40 Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Further, the latest iteration of the Trailblazer is offered in two variants LT (priced at P1,488,888) and Premier (pegged at P1,621,888).
