Chevrolet in North America confirmed the future expansion of the brand’s popular ZR2 trim to the Silverado.
The ZR2 trim was relaunched on the Colorado midsize pickup in 2017 and, since then, ZR2 has signified high-performance capability in a wide variety of drive settings both on- and off-road, the bow-tie brand boasted.
To create a stir for the upcoming Silverado ZR2, Chevrolet posted a teaser in its Twitter account (@ChevyTrucks). The teaser was a short video of the truck driving on mud, as shown by its muddy tires and underside.
"Celebrating those who love the mud. Tune in this fall (around Sept. 2021) to see what's new from #Silverado," the post was captioned.
The US-spec Colorado ZR2 (below) is powered by a 3.6-liter DOHC V6 that generates 230hp and 373Nm. As a ZR2, the Colorado was fitted with off-road enhancements.
