Two years ago, Chevrolet introduced the first-ever mid-engine C8 Corvette Stingray.
Soon, the story will continue with the reveal of the all-new 2023 C8 Corvette Z06. As usual for Chevrolet, it has only released a teaser video of its go-faster Corvette.
So for the C8 Corvette Z06's specs, reports said that will be powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine derived from a Corvette racing car. The V8 is expected to rev up to around 9,000rpm and to produce 617hp.
The engine may get to use a center-exit exhaust, and might be mated to an upgraded version of the C8's eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.
To continue the Z06 tradition of yore, the hotter C8 Corvette Z06 may come with wider bodywork to accommodate the wider tires and 20- to 21-inch wheels. Sophisticated suspension, or an enhanced Magentic Ride Control might be fitted as well.
That trick suspension is also available in the front-engined, C7 Corvette sold locally. Magnetic Ride Control reads the road every millisecond and adjusts the suspension accordingly, in order to maintain stability.
An all-aluminum 6.2-liter V8 engine with 455hp and 621Nm of torque powers the C7 Corvette, and is mated to an eight-speed automatic.
