Chevron PH donates COVID-19 vaccines to Red Cross
Chevron Philippines, Inc (CPI), the official local marketer of Caltex fuel and lubricants, as well as Chevron Holdings, Inc. (CHI) donated 635 vials of COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to boost the country’s fight against the pandemic.

Chevron Philippines said that more than 12,000 individuals are expected to benefit from the donated vaccines.In a statement, the company said that more than 12,000 individuals are expected to benefit from the Moderna vaccines — which could serve either as primary shots or booster doses — that were recently turned over.
“Despite the Philippines logging in lower cases in recent months, the PRC continues to drum up efforts to encourage every Filipino to get vaccinated and to have additional protection through booster shots. The donation comes in the wake of a recent OCTA Research pronouncement saying that the Philippines may experience another surge by May or June, similar to what other countries are experiencing now,” CPI noted.
“The Philippine Red Cross will continue to exert efforts in giving COVID-19 vaccines to more Filipinos in order to reach herd immunity. We’re grateful to Chevron for this donation as this will surely help us administer more doses to protect the community against COVID-19,” PRC Manager for Health Services Mark Alvin Abrigo was quoted as saying.
For her part, CPI Senior Corporate Affairs Advisor Raissa Bautista noted that the company has a long-standing partnership with the PRC with regular contributions to relief and rehabilitation efforts in times of disasters and calamities. “Supporting PRC throughout the COVID-19 pandemic is no different. We are hopeful that this donation can help in getting more Filipinos protected against COVID-19,” Bautista said.
Meanwhile, CHI Public Policy and Corporate Affairs Manager Arlita Narag reminds the public to remain vigilant against the virus.
“Chevron has always valued health and safety. While the pandemic situation in the country right now seems to be getting better, we would like to encourage everyone to remain vigilant and to continue observing health protocols like wearing of face masks, frequent washing of hands, and getting vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.”
Recently, PRC ramped up its vaccination efforts through the deployment of Bakuna buses in various areas around the country. To date, the PRC has already administered a total of 1,013,731 COVID-19 primary doses and 67,059 booster shots. It is now also administering the same vaccines to children aged five to 11 years old.
