A Chevrolet dealership has confirmed on social media that the American carmaker will bring in the all-new Chevrolet Cruze and the all-new Chevrolet Malibu sometime this year.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BfAVLsQgNDI/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BfFq-xCAwLO/ In two separate Instagram posts, Chevrolet Makati revealed first on February 10 that the compact-sized Cruze is coming "this 2018" followed by another post two days later on February 12 that revealed the arrival of the midsize Malibu sedan "this 2018" as well. The all-new Chevrolet Cruze's arrival is long overdue, particularly since the second-generation model has been around since 2015. What's worth noting though is that Chevrolet Makati's teaser image only shows the front end of the compact model. Our guess is that Chevrolet Philippines is still keeping us in suspense about it because internationally, the second-generation Cruze is available in both four-door sedan and five-door hatchback forms. The all-new Cruze is equipped with a 1.4-liter engine turbocharged engine that puts out 153 hp and 240 Nm of torque though in the United States and in South Korea, both of which manufacture the Cruze, it's also offered with a 1.6-liter turbo diesel that produces 137 hp and 325 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. As for the Chevrolet Malibu, we're surprised that it's still going to be sold here considering that the eighth-generation model never really caught on in the local market Like the Cruze, the all-new Malibu has been around since 2015, and like the Cruze, it's also available with two engine choices: a 1.5-liter and a 2.0-liter--both of which are turbocharged, are inline-fours, and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission--that churns out 160 hp and 249 Nm of torque for the former and 250 hp and 353 Nm of torque for the latter. A hybrid version is also available with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, a two-motor drive unit, and a hybrid transmission.
