What is the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program?
Maserati’s Fuoriserie customization program is an initiative that allows Maserati owners to personalize their cars. What theme did Beckham use for his MC20?
Beckham went with the colors of the Inter Miami CF (Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami), a Miami-based football team he co-owns.How did the colors translate to the car's design?
Outside, the bespoke MC20 sports a glossy black exterior, opaque Trident logos and Maserati lettering, pastel pink MC20 badges, and pastel pink Brembo brake calipers. Inside, are black leather seats with pink contrast-stitching and similarly designed interior elements.According to the Italian luxury automotive brand, the tailor-made Maserati was a product of a unique collaboration between the co-owner of Inter Miami CF (Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami) and Maserati Centro Stile.
“I have always been a car enthusiast, so to be part of designing and creating my MC20 through the Fuoriserie customization program has been an amazing experience. Cars are about individual taste whether it’s the model, color, or small personal details on the inside. It has been incredible to collaborate with the Maserati team and designers to create this one-off car that is inspired by my second home, Miami, and my football club there. It is a joy to be behind the wheel,” explained Beckham.
The car, dubbed the MC20 Fuoriserie Edition for David Beckham, is part of Maserati’s Fuoriserie customization program. The program allows Maserati customers — especially those who wouldn’t want to come across the same Maserati on the road — to personalize their ride.
The car, Maserati says, is intended as a symbol of true luxury in the third millennium and shows the world its unique nature and personal character. Maserati Fuoriserie is a blank canvas and the House of the Trident truly offers an array of instruments to create with. The rest is left to the client’s taste and inspiration, giving them the opportunity to set their own trends and express their personality.
As for Beckham’s MC20 Fuoriserie, the bodywork (as well as the interior) of his custom MC20 plays with the colors of his Inter Miami CF team: black and pink. It features a glossy black tone, opaque Trident logos on the grille and on the C-pillar, an opaque Maserati lettering on the rear, as well a pastel pink MC20 badge on the doors, and pastel pink Brembo brake calipers.
Inside it is finished with luxurious Alcantara leather which echoes the theme of the exterior — black with contrast-stitching in pink. The backrests, in Alcantara as well, are worked with a tone-on-tone laser engraving method and the headrest features a three-dimensional pastel pink embroidery.
In addition, the supercar sports a carbon fiber monocoque — entirely made in Italy — and sports a patented V6 petrol engine derived from Formula 1 technologies.
Finally, in the center tunnel between the two seats is a personalized nameplate with a glossy-matte effect: at the top, next to the Trident, the Maserati Fuoriserie lettering is pastel pink, at the bottom the italics "For David" appears with an aluminum effect.
“As car designers, our mission is to offer a holistic experience. This value guides our Brand's stylistic research, making each Maserati uniquely recognizable. Our customization program is another example of our brand’s goal to create singular experiences for our customers: Maserati Fuoriserie is a blank canvas, on which Maserati clients can write their own stories and unleash their creativity, making their dreams come true. Designing this special edition MC20 with David, as with all our Fuoriserie projects, is also an ode to the Brand’s past, taking us back to a time when every car was hand-built to the client’s requests, giving life to a one-off, a true ‘fuoriserie,’” said Maserati Head of Design, Klaus Busse.
