Diamond Auto Group EV is PH distributor of Dongfeng EV trucks

Diamond Auto Group EV Corporation (DAGEV) has started the distribution of Dongfeng commercial electric vehicles (EV) in the Philippines.

With a proven track record of operating for more than five decades in the local automotive industry, the company made the official announcement of its endeavor last July 19.

DAGEV Corporation President Monek Calimbahin said that being the official distributor of Dongfeng commercial EV models, the company is committed to offer high-quality high-quality, reliable and eco-friendly vehicles to “power customers ahead.”

“In addition to powering you ahead, Diamond Auto Group EV Corporation is steadfast in assisting businesses run effectively and expand by offering the advantages of electric workhorses from Dongfeng Motor Corporation, including reduced carbon footprint due to zero exhaust emissions, less moving parts, lower maintenance costs, less downtime, and savings from high fuel prices,” Calimbahin said.

Vehicle lineup

During the launch, Calimbahin said that since all the offerings are fully electric models, customers of their vehicles would enjoy the benefits stated under the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) such lowered vehicle registration cost, and exemption from number coding scheme.

Said to be the first electric pick-up truck offering in the market, the Dongfeng Rich 6 EV is powered by an electric powertrain that can deliver 161 horsepower (hp) and 420 Newton-meters of torque. It is mated to a battery that allows the vehicle to cover up to 350 kilometers (km).

Also, the company also offers the Dongfeng EC36 passenger van that can carry eight occupants (including driver). It has an electric mill that can dish out 80 hp and has a 300-km range — making it ideal for shuttle service businesses.

Meanwhile, the Dongfeng EV30 cargo van boasts a car-like cabin, wide barn doors and a cargo box capacity of 5,600 liters of space. Its electrified powertrain has a peak output of 94 hp and 230Nm of torque.

The Dongfeng EC35 light panel van can transport loads as much as 5,100 liters. Power also comes from electric powertrain setup that can provide 80hp and 200Nm of pulling power and battery pack that enables it to go as much as 300 kms.

Further, DAGEV also distributes models in cab and chassis formats namely the EC31, EV35, and EV45. The three offerings can be configured with aluminum box or other body applications.

The Dongfeng EC31 light-duty cab and chassis can reach 300 kilometers with its battery setup. Its powertrain has the capability to dish out 80hp and 200Nm of torque.

Designed as a medium-sized cab and chassis truck, the Dongfeng EV35 has a 280km range and a payload of up to 1,650 kilograms. Its electrified powertrain can give up to 134hp and 230 Nm of torque.

Lastly, the EV45 is capable of carrying a payload of 2,200kg and its engine can give out 161hp, 320 Nm of torque with a battery range of 350 kilometers.

Relatedly, DAGEV said that it is dedicated to helping its dealers and customers with all their after-sales needs, from having spare parts available in its distributor parts depot to providing nationwide technical support by mechanics who have been trained by Dongfeng Motors Corporation to work on electric vehicles.

In addition, DAGEV also announced that starting September, the flagship Dongfeng EV dealership in the country will be opened. The sales facility will be established along Marcos Highway in San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal.
