The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is priced at US$96,666 or P5.265 million. To note, the Challenger SRT Demon 170 (now dubbed the world’s most powerful muscle car) was originally set to make its appearance sometime in November last year. However, due to “product and supply challenges,” the Stellantis-owned brand decided to move its arrival this month, at the Dodge Last Call Powered by Roadkill Nights Vegas event on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Dodge even made weekly teaser videos to hype up the unveiling of the Challenger SRT Demon 170.
Notable features of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 include its 1,025-horsepower HEMI engine mated to the TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.
To achieve such figures, Dodge had to tweak out the powerplant with upgrades such as a 3.0-liter supercharger, a 3.02-inch supercharger pulley, high-flow fuel injectors, an increase (105 millimeters) in throttle body diameter, nitride-coated intake valves, an aluminum cylinder head with integrated aerospace-specification high-strength steel studs with steel inserts, upgraded head and main cap fasteners, and new spark plugs with lower heat range for optimal combustion, to name a few.
“To celebrate the end of the HEMI muscle-car era, we pulled off all the governors to reach a new level, a new benchmark of ‘factory-crazy’ production car performance. In 2015, Dodge shocked the world with the 707-horsepower Hellcat. Then, in 2018, we did it with the 840-horsepower Demon, and now we are doing it again with the 1,025-horsepower Demon 170, the world’s first sustainable-energy, eight-second, factory-production, street-legal muscle car,” said Dodge Chief Executive Officer Tim Kuniskis.
The sheer power of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is reflected in its unique exterior and interior appointments.
It wears a reimagined Demon badge with a “170” neck tattoo and a new E85-representative yellow demon’s eye. On the grille is an SRT emblem. Under the hood are more unique appointments such as a Demon-themed supercharger badge and a special commemorative “Last Call” plaque.
Exclusive interior features come in the form of a yellow and red Demon instrument panel badge, a new Challenger SRT Demon 170-specific cluster screen, an Alcantara leather-wrapped performance steering wheel with an SRT logo, and lightweight houndstooth cloth-wrapped seats.
Production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will begin in summertime (from June to September) and will be limited to only 3,300 units. It is priced at US$96,666 or P5.265 million.
