DOTr Tells LTFRB: Follow ARTA Orders on TNVS Application
The leadership of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to follow the order of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).
The said order from ARTA, as soon as the transport regulator will comply, shall automatically approve all applications for Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) that already have completed the requirements.
DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddess Libiran told member of the media that, following a meeting on Tuesday, August 13, between ARTA Director General Jeremiah Belgica and DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, the latter "instructed Undersecretary for Road Transport Mark de Leon to ensure LTFRB’s immediate implementation of ARTA's Order, provided that substantive completion of documents/requirements are met by applicants."
Last Tuesday, ARTA ordered the LTFRB to issue Certificates of Public Conveniece (CPCs) to pending applicants that have the necessary requirements, paid the necessary fees, and heard by the board from July 7, 2018 to July 24, 2019--when Republic Act 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business Act, took effect.
