DPWH Fast-Tracking Completion of Tumagbok Bridge in Iloilo
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the completion of the Tumagbok Bridge in Iloilo. The said bridge is located along Iloilo-Antique road in Barangay Igtuba.
DPWH Region VI Director Wenceslao M. Leaño, Jr. said the Tumagbok Bridge will soon open to motorists. The agency allocated PHP200 million to widen and strengthen the bridge, which will also come with concrete railings for pedestrians.
Leaño added that the new Tumagbok Bridge will "complement the widening of Iloilo-Antique Road from two to four lanes." The Iloilo-Antique Road is the main highway that motorists passes through from Iloilo City up to Antique.
"We are fast-tracking the concreting of the remaining two lanes of approaches on both sides so we can fully open the bridge. In the meantime, motorists can use the two inner lanes of the bridge where approaches are already concreted," said Leaño.
