DPWH lights up Binondo-Intramuros Bridge as completion nears

The department estimated that around 30,000 motorists will be using the bridge once completed.In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado, public works undersecretary Emil Sadain said that the modernized bridge that connects Binondo and Intramuros over Pasig River will be opened anytime between April 5 to 9.
Sadain said that construction crews are currently working on the bridge’s carriageway, ramps, as well as other components and could be opened sooner before the 2022 Holy Week begins.
When opened to traffic, the new two-way, four-lane bridge is expected to cater to around 30,000 vehicles every day and is expected to attract tourists with engineering design.
It is also built with a sidewalk for pedestrians and joggers separated by safety railings and marked lanes for bikers.
The Binondo-Intramuros Bridge and Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge are two flagship infrastructure projects funded by a grant from China.
