DPWH opens new FMRs in Bataan
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that the farm-to-market roads (FMR) in the municipalities of Abucay and Dinalupihan in Bataan are now complete.

The project is 3.42 kilometers long.DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, citing reports from Regional Office 3 Director Roseller Tolentino, said that agricultural communities are benefitting from the 3.42 kilometers of newly-paved road in Barangay Salian Road and Barangay San Simon Road in Abucay and Dinalupihan, respectively.
The 2.33-kilometer Barangay Salian FMR in Abucay town allows efficient transport of farm products to market centers all over the province of Bataan.
Apart from contributing to Abucay’s local economy, the Barangay Salain Road reduces travel time while ensuring safer journey in and out of the community, bringing convenience to residents.
On the other hand, the 1.09-kilometer FMR in Barangay San Simon resulted in improved mobility of people, products, and services in Dinalupihan town.
The Barangay San Simon FMR was constructed in two (2) different sections with 666-linear-meters of the road built under the project’s Section I and the remaining 427.83 linear meters concreted under Section II.
The P35.84-million road concreting projects implemented by DPWH Bataan First District Engineering Office (DEO) were part of the convergence program of the DPWH with the Department of Agriculture (DA).
