DPWH reactivates ‘Lakbay Alalay’ for upcoming All Saints’ Day celebration

Per DPWH, the “Lakbay Alalay” teams are uniformed field and crew personnel with maintenance equipment on standby at navy blue-colored tents along identified stations.DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan said that the department’s “Lakbay Alalay” motorist assistance program will be operational starting 7 a.m. tomorrow up to noontime of November 2.
In a statement, the public works department said its “Lakbay Alalay” teams are uniformed field and crew personnel with maintenance equipment on standby at navy blue-colored tents along identified stations.
“Our teams will be working on a round-the-clock shift to provide emergency assistance to travelers and ensure major thoroughfares are well-maintained, and free from obstruction and potholes,” Bonoan was quoted as saying.
He also ordered the implementing offices with ongoing projects to ensure that proper safety signages and traffic advisories are in place to prevent traffic slowdown along major roads and routes leading to cemeteries.
Further, the department is also in close coordination with the Land Transportation Office, Philippine National Police, and local government Units — as well as other agencies — for any required assistance.
