The subcompact Toyota Vios has been the bestselling car in the Philippines for more than a decade. Don't look down on this car simply because taxi drivers prefer this model. Young professionals and small families have come to like this model for its reliability and affordability. In 2014, Toyota introduced a face-lifted and sportier Vios.

This fuel efficient compact car has established itself as one of the mainstays in the local automotive market. In the 1990s, this car model sold like hotcakes and was able to go toe-to-toe with the Toyota Corolla in terms of sales. Today, the Civic is one of the car models that is constantly being refreshed by Honda to appeal as a family passenger car.

There was a time (in the 90s) when a non-sedan taxicab was called an FX, referring to this Toyota packhorse.
