Following the announcement last February, Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) has trimmed down the retail price of the Leaf offering to P1.998 million.
Effective last April 21, the Japanese automaker’s local arm said that the new pricing is 30 percent less compared to its original price of P2.798 million.
The Nissan Leaf’s updated price tag, the distributor explained, is in accordance with the Executive Order No.12 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dated January 13, 2023.
“Nissan continues to make electrified mobility more accessible to our customers across the country, as a pioneer in the Philippines’ electrification movement. We welcome this development from the Philippine government as it further accelerates our electrification strategy for the country in line with our Nissan Ambition 2030, which aims to empower mobility and beyond by providing long term sustainable solutions,” NPI President Juan Manuel Hoyos said in a statement.
First introduced in the Philippines in 2021, the Nissan Leaf is the brand’s initial mass-produced electric vehicle (EV).
Nissan Philippines said that as part of the “Ambition 2030” vision, the marque will work to increase its electrified vehicle product mix in all its markets by the year 2030 and will also utilize its EV technologies to address various issues beyond transportation and sustainable mobility.
It can be recalled that Nissan Philippines launched its Blue Switch initiative last year that is eyed to create key partnerships with various organizations to help address social concerns such as disaster response, climate change, responsible travel, and energy management with the use of EV technologies such as Vehicle-to-Anything (V2X) bi-directional charging.
