Porsche has unveiled the refreshed version of the Cayenne, which is said to be the nameplate’s final version that will be powered by an internal combustion engine.
The latest offering from Stuttgart-headquartered brand made its debut in the country in time for its local distributor’s 27th-anniversary celebration.
In addition, the new Porsche Cayenne also serves as the model’s return to V8 as the Philippine-spec model is available in the aforementioned powertrain or with an uprated V6 mill. Likewise, the vehicle is offered in five variants namely the Cayenne and the Cayenne S (which come in sport utility vehicle and coupe body styles), and Cayenne Turbo GT (coupe).
The base trim Porsche Cayenne’s V6 powertrain has the capacity to dish out 353 horsepower (hp) and 500 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque — 13 hp and 50 Nm more compared to the previous model.
On the other hand, the new Porsche Cayenne S boasts a twin-turbo 4.0 V8 gasoline engine that can give 474 horses and 600 Nm of pulling power while the top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo GT’s twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine outputs up to 659 hp and 850 Nm of torque.
For its exterior, the new vehicle wears a new hood, grille, bumpers, and rear apron — giving it a spruced-up look. The difference between Cayenne and Cayenne S with the Cayenne Turbo GT are its headlight system — the former being endowed with LED matrix and the latter sporting HD matrix type.
The rear portion of the vehicles are fitted with a new three-dimension strip tail light system.
Further, the vehicle has a highly-digitized display and control concept, new chassis technology, and other innovative features.
Moreover, the new Porsche Cayenne models are also equipped with a two-chamber air suspension that helps sharpen the vehicle’s performance on pavement and off-road, as well as offers more differentiation between Normal, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.
Furthermore, the cabin of the new Cayenne features the Porsche Driver Experience layout — which was first seen in the purely-electric Taycan. The newly-launched model’s frequently-used controls rested on or beside the steering wheel — including the gear selector that is now placed on the dashboard.
The redesigned cockpit also has a curved, 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch central Porsche Communication Management display, and an optional 10.9-inch screen passenger display.
