Following 2-month delay, NLEX C3-R10 Link to be finally completed mid-June
The C3-R10 segment of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link will be completed by the middle of this month.
The completion, which has delayed for around two months, is now on full-speed after construction has been halted due to government's pronouncement of lockdown following the outbreak of COVID-19.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar made the assurance that the project will finished come June 15.
“We are glad to announce that another flagship project, the C3-R10 Section of NLEX Harbor Link, is now back on track and is expected to be completed by June 15,” Villar said.
“When completed, the Harbor Link project is expected to cut travel time from Quezon City to Manila from 2 hours to only 10 minutes," he added.
Villar also said that the deck slab concreting works at the NLEX Harbor Link C3-R10 Section is now at 100 percent.
The NLEX Corporation has announced that construction works has resumed on the C3-R10 Section, following new DPWH protocols on construction activities.
Originally targeted for completion at an earlier date, Villar attributed the two-month delay due to restrictions from enhanced community quarantine.
NLEX Harbor Link C3-R10 Section is a 2.6-kilometer,4-lane elevated ramp that will extend NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 to Radial Road 10 (R-10), using C-3 Road as its route.
Once completed, it is expected to provide direct access between the Port Area and the northern provinces of Luzon and cut travel time from Port Area to NLEX to only ten (10) minutes.
