KEY TAKEAWAYS
When will Ford introduce the Bronco in the Philippines?
Based on the recent Ford Philippines' statement, the forthcoming model will arrive within the year. What are the Ford Bronco's engine options abroad?
Overseas, Ford Broncos are equipped with turbocharged, direct-inject Ecoboost gasoline engines varying from 2.3-, 2.7-, or 3.0-liter versions.Ford Philippines shared the news, adding that the would-be addition to its local lineup will be available for reservations soon exclusively through the company’s online reservation portal and will be “supported by all Ford dealers nationwide.”
“More information including product specifications and reservation timings will be shared closer to launch date,” Ford Philippines said in a statement.
While the official details are yet to be shared, here are the possible specifications of the Philippine-bound off-roader as in other overseas markets.
Abroad, the Ford Bronco comes in two formats: two- and four-door body options. These are powered by turbocharged, direct-inject Ecoboost engines (could be in 2.3-, 2.7-, or 3.0-liter gasoline mills) that can provide as much as 330 horses and up to 415 Newton-meters of pulling power. The said powertrains are matched to either a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Our take on this is that the Philippines will likely have the four-door, 10-speed gearbox options — given the usual preference of car buyers locally.
Further, the four-door versions offer a wheelbase of nearly 2,960 millimeters (depending on the variant), which translates to sufficient legroom to all its occupants.
Designed to appeal to those who love the great outdoors, the Ford Bronco seen in other countries has 4x4 capabilities with part-time selectable engagement and some optional technologies like the Trail One-Pedal Drive, Trail Turn Assist, Electronic-Locking Rear Axle, and Trail Control.
